Action for Conservation

When charity Action for Conservation told us they were launching the world’s largest youth-led conservation project, we couldn’t wait to help them get the word out. Taking place across a 2,000 acre estate in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, twenty young people were all set to take charge of ensuring the ecological and environmental health of the site is restored.

Tapping into the topical engagement with sustainability, we lined up a launch campaign to help a small charity make a big impact.

What we did

We secured an exclusive with the Guardian, with a thorough news piece landing on launch day. We then hosted BBC Wales broadcast teams on the land, which led to a feature piece on BBC Wales News, coverage on BBC News Online, alongside clips in the BBC Radio Wales news segment. The Action for Conservation Youth Leaders were interviewed across a range of broadcast outlets, even sparking a BBC Radio Wales Breakfast phone-in about inspiring youth.

We complemented this national coverage with pieces in The Week Junior, Farmers Monthly, Positive.News, The Ecologist, Bushcraft Magazine, Brecon & Radnor Express, Wales Online, Be Kind Magazine, Edie.net and Country Life, as well as placing thought leadership pieces from their CEO and youth leaders. We also handled their social media presence throughout this impactful and eye-catching launch.

The Crest team has completely exceeded our expectations. With their expertise, the launch of our newest endeavour, the Penpont Project project, received national and international press coverage and their training and support has grown our own internal capacity and media skills.
