To ensure we could take advantage of the most hyped up event of the year, we worked with the Heidi team to create a gorgeous mini-wedding cake selection for locals and press to enjoy, along with a show-stopping ‘Megharryccino’ coffee offer, which saw the happy couples’ faces printed on a coffee.
The results? We went viral. Broadcast crews from every corner of the globe flocked to Heidi Bakery to interview their team and take footage of the royal wedding offerings. From CNN to Australia Channel 9, the bakery was beamed to homes across the world. In the UK, feature pieces on Sky News, ITV and BBC Breakfast, plus coverage from Reuters and Press Association, meant that Heidi Bakery was at the centre of the pre-wedding hype. We even had a journalist from the Huff Post come down to try her hand at some royal baking.
On the day, an interview with Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 was followed by more coverage on Sky News and the BBC. Social media was awash with #megharryccino and we almost lost count of the number of articles that mentioned the bakery and their creative wares.
